We
gathered under the beautiful Rose Window in St. Catharine Hall. We have
gathered under this beautiful window for over one hundred years. Many of
the jubilarians would have made their first vows under this window. The
professional song used, "We Gather Here," had a double meaning for us. The
words rung true in our hearts but recalling that the text was done by Carol
Artery, OP and Priscilla Wood, OP caused a moment of pause. Carol and
Priscilla were the musicians at our chapter in April, 2009 and within weeks
Carol died of cancer.
We gather here in this great place to thank
you and rejoice!
With gratitude, we lift our hearts and praise you with one voice.
From north and south, from east and west, we praise, we bless,
we preach. e work for justice, search for truth and strive to live in
peace.
We call each other to proclaim the gospel with
our lives.
We join our minds and hearts as one, knowing Providence will provide.
From north and south, from east and west, we praise, we bless, we preach.
we rest in the mercy of our God and give it each to each.
We walk the way of Dominic, of Catherine and
of all, who walked
before us in faith who answered their true call. From north
and south, from east and west, we praise, we bless we preach.
And may the gifts of grace and good be granted to all we reach.

Carol Artery, OP
may she rest forever
in God's eternal and loving embrace.
