“Human trafficking is defined as the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services through the use of force, fraud, or coercion, for the purpose of subjecting that person to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.” Trafficking Victims' Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005.

Human trafficking is the third largest criminal industry in the world. The trafficking of persons for sexual exploitation or forced labor is a grievous violation of the dignity of the human person and is a form of modern day slavery. Trafficking is one of the most difficult crimes to prosecute and most insidious problem to solve.
