CENTRAL DISTRICT
FACILITY OF THE YEAR
We have always been very
proud of Sansbury but now our buttons can really just pop right off!!!
Congratulations and kudos and way-to-go’s are in order for Sansbury Care
Center. They were selected to be the Central District Facility of the Year by
the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities.
Established in 1954, the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF)
is the trade association that represents propriety and nonproprietary nursing
facilities and personal care homes across the Commonwealth. One of the state
affiliates of the American Health Care Association, KAHCF provides a wide
variety of services to member facilities including legislative and regulatory
activities, professional development, statewide recognition programs,
publications, media relations, research and advocacy relations.
This was the
first year that Sansbury decided to enter the competition. They had to submit a
written application and the judges base 25% on that written form. The remaining
75% is divided into two sections: 25% based on customer service evaluations and
50% based on on-site judging. We know that such an honor does not come easily.
The staff and management at Sansbury Care Center believe that the work they are
doing is part of a mission and not just another job. Their dedication and
care for those who call Sansbury home is unparalled. as soon as you enter
Sansbury their is a spirit that says, "this place is different." Those who
live at Sansbury are grounded in their love for God and express it by caring for
each other and for the staff. They do this every day but once it was
decided to enter the competition they gave a little extra. Residents,
staff, friends, family, under the leadership efforts of Darlene Herald, gave
more than a hundred percent effort to show why we are proud to have Sansbury
Care Center. All of their care, concern and effort was rewarded by being named
Central Facility of the Year. They were already Number 1 in our heart and
now others recognize it too.
The next step is to enter the statewide competition with the winners from four other districts. The state award will be announced on November 13, 2008.
