| Study of Dominican Life and Mission:
A
committee of Alliance members worked on a study process for the
Alliance congregations. This process was designed to explore the lived reality
of the four pillars of Dominican life as we experience them
today. Study Days were held in Dover MA, Springfield, IL, Oxford, MI and Ponchatoula, LA.

| Executive Director: This year the Alliance has had the services of Joan Scanlon, OP as the Executive Director of the Alliance. Her office is in River Forest so she is in close communication with Dominican Leadership Council, Justice Promoter for the Alliance. Joan serves as a link between the Alliance and many other publics. | |
| Promoter of Justice: Judith Hilbing also serves the Alliance as Promoter of Justice. Her office is also in River Forest. Both Joan and Judi are hired by the Alliance. | |
| Eco-justice Committee When initiating their structure they wanted their ecology ministry grounded in the Dominican charism, with an emphasis on communication and the sharing of resources. The richness of collaborating as eco-justice promoters is that they offer support to each other, bring key environmental issues to all the Alliance congregations. One of their first projects was to prepare a study program on genetically engineered food (contact your Alliance member to obtain this material). They have also presented a propose Land Ethic to the Alliance Leadership. The study materials being developed for May 2004, will focus on WATER. | |
| Vocation/Formation. This committee has worked on a variety of projects together such as developing common entrance forms, a weekend of study and prayer for candidates, vocation advertisement ideas. They come together to plan, to share and offer support to each other. | |
| Other committees: Promoters of Justice, Promoters of Preaching, Alliance Retreat, Spirituality of Leadership, and Vocation/Formation. | |
| Organizational Movements: The Alliance leadership has expanded their meetings to four a year. Two of these are all leadership meetings and two are representative meetings. | |
As we look over the past years, we continue to recognize that the Alliance is an organic process where we continue to look at how together we can promote the mission more effectively than we can do this independently.
