House of Preaching:

The Preaching House is an intentional, collaborative, community centered on the Dominican charism of preaching the Word of God.  Members of the house are either core members, ministers in the area, or itinerant members, ministers who travel.  Each member is committed to developing her identity as a preacher and is also committed to encourage that identity in the other members of the house.

Each member shares responsibility for participating in common life through individual and community prayer, study and ministry/preaching.  As Dominican women, we recognize the power of preaching by word and by life-style.  Therefore, this community explores ways to invite others to share in its common prayer and study as a means to share the grace Dominicans know in contemplation of the Word.

It is located in Oak Park, Il.

Sponsored High Schools:  Alliance communities who sponsor high schools gather representative board members, administrators, faculty and leadership to study and share how the Dominican charism is being fostered in our various institutions.
Kaleidoscope Committee:  The purpose of this committee is to develop a network for those who are finding their way in Dominican life and assist them in developing their voice and confidence in an environment of peers.  The committee is made up of members who are either less than 10 finally professed or 55 years or younger.  They provide opportunities for relationship building and networking for the sake of the mission.  They also have as their goal the fostering of leadership for the future of the Alliance and the Dominican Family.
Communication:  A list-serve has been developed for the Alliance communities.  Committees and members can continue to be in contact with each other.  A web page is being developed which will provide links to each congregations' individual web page.  A common ad has been developed for vocations among the Alliance communities.
