Nancy Spalding, Director of Food Services, uses much of the produce from the garden for the meals. The word goes throughout the house when the first crop of tomatoes and corn comes in and everyone shows up for dinner that day. We call back old friends, Minnie Fae and Edna to help with the canning during harvest season. Nancy says she snaps them in her sleep. Stephanie wonders how many ways you can cook squash. Beth counts the jars! On this day they were going to hit the 500th jar of green beans. |
