We will renew our desire to live as Dominicans on April 12, 2009. Later in the day we will return not to a 12' x 15' log cabin but to the place we call home. I often wonder what was Easter night like for those first sisters ...

Did they wonder, what have we done?
Did they say, "What were we thinking?
Did they ask, "Now what?"
Were they afraid?

There was no time for them to linger in this kind of questioning? There was work to be done, a mission to live and live it they did and they passed that chutzpah .. that faith... that determination ...that courage...that ignorance ... that enthusiasm for the mission onto their daughters.

So we will wish each other Happy Founders Day on April 7th and on April 12th and though our questions, fears and wonderings might be similar to our early sisters we like them will get on with living.

We must get on with it ... because we are a people with a Mission..
We must get on with it ... because we promised we would.
We must get on with it .... because that is our heritage.
We must get on with it ... because we heard a call and we said, "yes!"
