Sr. Teri Wall (59) died on Friday, June 26, 2009, at St. Anthony Hospital (Denver, Colorado) in her 31st year of religious profession.  Born to Martin Joseph Wall and Elizabeth Lucille (Barry) Wall in Butte, Montana, Teri was one of three children. She made her profession of vows as a Dominican Sister of Great Bend, Kansas, on December 31, 1978.

Sr. Teri earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from St. Mary of the Plains in Kansas, Master’s degrees in Social Work from St. Louis University and Theology and Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union, and Certifications in Healthcare and Leadership for Mission from Catholic Theological Union.

At the time of her death, Sr. Teri was updating her education to reinstate her Social Service license.  Sr. Teri ministered as the Special Projects Coordinator and Social Worker for Central Kansas Medical Center, President of St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Marian Plaza Low Income Senior Housing Administrator, St. Joseph Children’s Home Resident Director, Administrative Assistant of Heartland Center for Spirituality, and Director of Hospice for Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice. Sr. Teri also volunteered as a construction worker for one year with Habitat for Humanity.

For the last seven years, Sr. Teri worked tirelessly with women who were in the process of discerning their future and/or considering religious life. As the Vocations Minister for the Dominican Sisters of Great Bend from 2001-2009, Sr. Teri created countless brochures, flyers, letters and coordinated events. Her laugh was infectious and her joy for life contagious. Sr. Teri loved the mountains of Colorado and the plants and flowers decorating the carefully tended garden at the House of Discernment.
