Born into Eternal Life:  August 26, 2007

Eucharistic Missionary Sr. Victoria Brown died at Sansbury Care Center on August 26, 2007, after suffering from cancer for six months.  In August 2005, Sr. Vickie evacuated to Kentucky after a few days at Mohun Health Care Center in Columbus.  She pronounced vows as a Eucharistic Missionary of St. Dominic on Sept. 9, 1944.  Sr. Vickie was a gentle, committed missionary in Arizona and rural Louisiana for many years in addition to sharing her culinary skills both at the motherhouse and at Regina Coeli Retreat Center.

 

Her presence in the Motherhouse Kitchen earned her the nickname, "Spud."  After breakfast each morning she would say, "Well, I better go peel the potatoes.  She was a gentle, quiet woman whose smile could brighten your heart.  We will miss her.
