This was the very first time that we had the capability of webcasting the Chapter to those unable to attend.  Sisters, Associates and friends gathered at local Motherhouses and Rosary Manor to attend the Founding Event via internet.  The participants had everything that the participants in S. Louis had.  It seems to have happened without any glitches.  Click the picture to see a larger view.

Water was brought from the many places we either originated from or we currently serve in ministry. The water was blessed.  Water from Dominic's well in Caleruega, Spain was brought forth and then a person from each table brought their water and poured it into a common fountain.

Bless this water, O Holy God.  May it be for us a sign of your abundant life, spirit, wisdom, and peace.  May it bring us into deeper union with one another and with you.  Amen

When the fountain was turned on we sang a jubilant Alleluia.
In our midst was the Paschal Candle, reminding us that Christ, the Risen Lord, is always in our midst.  In St. Louis, the seven prioress of the founding congregations came forward with a candle representing their congregation.  The seven then gathered around the Paschal Candle and lit it.  The light was then taken throughout the assembly.

Sister Agnes Conway, OP ... the oldest member present at St. Catharine's took the light from the Paschal candle and lit the PEACE candle, representing the candle of the new congregation. The PEACE candle was taken to each table by Donna Medley,OPA and from that light a person from the table lit the table candle.  Here Sister Peggy Duggan, OP lights her table candle.

The assembly joined in the singing of Christ, Be Our Light.
